Need some Monday motivation to kick-start your week?

Try your hand at writing a flash fiction story with a beginning, middle, and end in 100 words or fewer, based on the image below. Don’t include the title in the word count and you are free to choose the genre.

You can share it here by posting it as a comment, post it to your own blog with a link back here, or keep it to yourself; either way, enjoy the process.

  1. Driving home for Christmas

The icy back roads made the drive difficult, and after such a long journey my eyelids drooped. It would be worth it to be home for Christmas; my family surprised to see me, welcoming me into the warmth with hugs and kisses.

Only fifty miles to go when the fox ran out. The trees came rushing towards me and the world turned black. In the distance a bright light beckoned. Was it the reflection from the angel on the tree? One day perhaps I’ll finish the journey. Until then, every year I have to keep driving home for Christmas.

(The photo made the words come tumbling out, so I hope this makes sense. 😀 )
